Today - the 13th of February, 2026 - is a big day for the Lagos State Football Association : they've just signed the papers on a deal with Cloud Sports Limited that's set to take their broadcast rights to the next level.
According to a statement released from the LSFA and put their weight behind by Chairman Hajji Gafar Liameed, this three year partnership - which is reportedly worth a tidy ₦100 million - is a bold move to give the Lagos FA Cup a much needed boost. By getting this sort of exposure, the plan is to increase visibility for the competition, and bring in some much needed cash and opportunities for the clubs, the players and the wider football community in Lagos to cash in on.
The thing is - this deal isn't just about paying out a handful of cash. Cloud Sports are also chucking in 300 footballs to help out 79 clubs who are part of the association - and they're also putting on a special one off training session for the media types who cover the FA Cup - 79 of them will be getting the lowdown on how to do their job better.
The Chairman of the Lagos State FA, is over the moon with the deal and is thanking Cloud Sports for having faith in the association, and putting in the investment to help grow football in Lagos. He reckons this deal is going to be a game changer for the whole football scene in Nigeria - and he's not alone in thinking that.
