Empowering the Future of Girls' Football in Lagos State

A Day of Celebration and Promise for Girls' Football Development in Lagos

The atmosphere was charged with excitement and optimism as the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) took a significant step towards enhancing football development for girls in Lagos. The event, a mentorship program organized by the LSFA, proved to be more than just a gathering—it was a testament to the growing commitment to nurturing young female talents in the state.

Gratitude to Our Supporters

The LSFA extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who, through the representation of the Commissioner for Youths and Social Development, Honorable Mobolaji Ogulende, reaffirmed the state's dedication to youth and sports development. Their presence and support were pivotal in making the event a success.

On behalf of the entire LSFA and the vibrant football community in Lagos, we express our immense appreciation to the Governor and his team for their unwavering support. This mentorship program is just one of the many initiatives we are committed to, ensuring that every child and youth in Lagos State receives the football training, love, and services they deserve.

A Day Filled with Talent and Promise

Earlier in the day, the venue also hosted an U-15 boys’ FIFA/NFF Talent Development Scheme, overseen by NFF Technical Director Coach Augustine Eguavoen and FIFA TDS Manager Mr. Nasiru Jibril. This initiative is part of a broader effort to identify and nurture budding football talents across Nigeria's geopolitical zones, preparing them for national and international events.

Acknowledging Our Pillars of Support

We would also like to express our deep appreciation to the key stakeholders who have continuously supported our mission to uplift football in Lagos. Special thanks to Alhaja Raliat AbdulSalam and the members of the Lagos State Female Football Development Committee, Mrs. Nkechi Obi, Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, the Lagos State Football Coaches Association led by 1st Vice Chairman Mr. Raymond Akaluogbo, and the Lagos State Referees Association led by Mr. Dele Atoun. Your dedication and hard work are the backbone of our success.

The Road Ahead

Football in Lagos is growing stronger by the day, with every stakeholder playing a crucial role in our collective journey towards excellence. As we continue to build on these successes, the LSFA remains committed to ensuring that every girl and boy in Lagos State has the opportunity to shine on and off the field.

The future of football in Lagos is bright, and together, we will achieve even greater results.
