Lagos FA Cup: Thrilling Matches and Dramatic Penalties Define the Tournament

 The 2024/2025 Lagos FA Cup continues to deliver excitement and drama as teams battle for supremacy in the prestigious competition. With the Round of 32 and Round of 16 fixtures underway, fans have been treated to a mix of dominant performances, nail-biting finishes, and dramatic penalty shootouts.

Round of 32 Highlights

The Round of 32 saw some standout performances and unexpected results. Nathboys F.C. made a statement with a commanding 6-0 victory over Seamoriow F.A., while Ikorodu City F.C. edged out Power of the Cross with a 2-1 win. In a thrilling encounter, De Sportif Messiah and F.C. Bethel played out a 3-3 draw, with F.C. Bethel clinching the win 4-1 on penalties.

Dominion Hot Spur secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over
Smart City Feeders, and Vido 99 F.C. continued their impressive form with a 4-2 win against Robo Dream 2 Reality. However, the biggest upset came when SGH Sports thrashed US Seamoriow F.C. 7-0, showcasing their dominance.

Young-Strikers F.C. and Spartans F.C. played out a goalless draw, with Young-Strikers prevailing 5-4 in the penalty shootout. Meanwhile, Box 2 Box F.C. narrowly defeated Clique Sports 2-1, and Real Sapphire fell to 36 Lion F.C. with a 1-0 scoreline.


Round of 16 Action

The Round of 16 kicked off with two intense matches that went down to the wire. Nathboys F.C. and Sporting Lagos Academy played out a 0-0 draw, with Nathboys securing a 6-5 victory on penalties. In another closely contested match, Young-Strikers F.C. and Box 2 Box ended 1-1 in regular time, with Box 2 Box advancing 5-4 on penalties.

The remaining Round of 16 fixtures are set for Thursday, February 13, 2025. Ikorodu City F.C. will face F.C. Bethel at Onikan Stadium, while Dominion Hot Spur takes on Seamoriow F.C. in what promises to be another exciting matchup.


Postponed Fixture

The highly anticipated clash between Smart City F.C. and Inter Lagos F.C., originally scheduled for Monday, February 10, has been postponed to Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Legacy Football Pitch.
